"The huts are the ideal resting places when travelling in the wilderness. There are 34 huts owned by The Iceland Touring Association and its subdivisions. They are open all year round and the largest ones have wardens during high season. Those with confirmed reservations have a higher priority so it is important to make reservation in advance if you want to have a certain place to stay."

Mindestausstattung: Bettgestelle mit Matrazen, Gasherd (nicht immer!), Toilette, Wasserversorgung.

Preise: "Sleeping bag accommodation in Categ. A; Members 1.200 per person per night. Non-members 1.700 per person per night. Sleeping bag accommodation in Categ. B; Members 1.100 per person per night. Non-members 1.600 per person per night. Categ. C; is 850 ISK for members pr. night and 1.100 ISK for non members pr. night.
Camping; Members 500 per person per night. Non-members 600 per person per night.
Use of facilities (visitors who don´t spend the night) 200 per person.

Útivist-Hütten: Die Hütten eines anderen Wandervereins.

Álftavötn: 24 persons. Numerous hiking options are within reach, for instance a day trip to Strútslaug (hot spring) or Gjátindur. Short walk is to Hólaskjól. GPS points: N 63° 53.890' W 18° 41.467'

Básar on Gođaland: The large hut sleeps 60 people while the small hut sleeps 20.

Fimmvörđuskáli: 23 people. GPS points: N 63°37.320 W19°27.093

Skćlingar: From the hut there is a short hike to Hólaskjól, and ideal day trips are for instance to Uxatindar or Gjátindur. 16 people. GPS: N 63°58.849' W 18°31.319'

Strútur: Several interesting daytrips can be made from the hut around the spectacular surroundings, for instance to Rauđibotn, Hólmsárlón, Strútslaug (hot spring) and Torfajökull (glacier). The hut is also an ideal overnight stop for those who are hiking from Álftavötn and are on their way to Hvanngil or Emstrur. 26 places. GPS: N 63°50.426'W 18°58.591'

Sveinstindur: östlich von Landmannalaugar. "A hiking trail has been marked from the road to Langisjór to the hut and a trail to the mountain has also been marked from the southwest. From the hut there is a three hour hike to the top of the mountain and back. Among interesting day trips from the hut is a hike to Fögrufjöll. 22 people." GPS: N64°05.176' W 18°24.946'
